The Geary Act
The Geary act was written by a man named, Thomas J. Geary. The Geary act brought shame to the Geary name. The act helped to extend the Chinese Exclusion act. This prevented the Chinese from coming to America. This act might have been one of the many acts that prevented the Chinese from coming to America, for 60 years. It also stated that any Chinese arrested for a felony, was to be deported or to be tried by a court. There were 9 sections in the Geary Act. This act helped some racist Americans, to stop the Chinese people from coming to the United States, and from taking their jobs for less payment. It was pretty unfair because the Chinese people were the largest number of immigrants who helped create the transcontinental railroad. This could also have made the country a little less powerful because of the act.
