The Wish By Gail Carson Levine This book is a great book because it's funny and very real; this novel by award-winning author Gail Carson Levine explores the question of whether we really want to be liked for who we are. Wilma is not very popular. But she gets very lucky when she bumps into a witch who grants her a wish: to be the most popular girl at Claverford Junior High. Everyone is calling her like crazy at home and she has 42 dates for her school dance. And she has a secret admirer who is writing her love poetry. But Wilma has questions that she would like to find out. Will the wish end? And just how far is Wilma willing to go to make sure she'll never be unpopular again? I guess if you like fiction and if you are into romance than this book might just be perfect for you.

Holes by Louis Sachar The book “Holes” tells two different time periods, the past and the present. This book is about a boy name Stanley Yelnats. He was sent to Camp Greenlake, where bad boys had to go because he found shoes from a famous basketball player. The shoes was dropped from the sky and hit Stanley. In Camp Greenlake, Stanley face many dangers and a strange boy who didn’t know how to read or write. His name was Zero and he had something to do with the past and the reason why Stanley was in this camp. Boys had to dig holes and the working conditions were harsh. The sky was always hot and the only available air conditioner was at the warden’s home. Why were the boys forced to dig holes? What were the boys digging holes for? Back into the past, Stanley’s no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing great great grandfather did deeds that would effect the future of the Yelnats family and especially Stanley. He broke a promise and was cursed to everyone in his family including future generations. How would the past effect the present time? What does the past have to do with the future? Find out as you read the book.

Dragonwings by Laurence Yep
This book is about is about the immigration of a boy named Moon Shadow to America to meet up with his dad and “The Company.” During this time, his dad is very fascinated by kites and sends Moon Shadow some of his work. His dad would have to send money back to China to feed the family so he decided to bring Moon Shadow over so he could take care of him. Time passes with Moon Shadow encountering different people, good and bad and learning the new ways of America. Later on in the book, they make Dragonwings since his father talked with the Wright brothers, which were well known for their airplanes. If you want to know if Dragonwings is going to fly and also what it is, read this book. It’s great for people who want to learn a little history and people who want to be entertained. It’s a great book that people should read since Laurence Yep is a good author in my opinion.

The book I recommend is Dragonwings because it is a story about Moon Shadow and his father in America. In the book is mostly about Moon Shadow. Moon Shadow is an eight year old boy in America but a nine year old boy in China. He is a curious boy who is curious about his father and America the golden mountain. His father name Windrider believes that he used to be a dragon until he turns mortal. When Moon Shadow met him he soon grows to love and respect he father a man of genius with a fabulous dream. Windider was willing to endure the mockery of the other Chinese. He long for his wife and country but also to make his dream come true. The big social issue in this book is the Chinese in America and how they are going to be treated in the future. What they think about America. If you like history and you want to know more about you culture this is the book for you because it about the Chinese in America along time ago during the time of the golden mountain.

Jing Jun Ma The Captive by Joyce Hansen The book I recommend is ¡°The Captive. I recommend this book because it talks about Slavery from a African Prince¡¯s point of view. Since in history we are learning about how African-Americans contribute to America, this book is good because we could know what Africans are thinking plus we could learn facts from the book. This is a historical-fiction book and it all started on a day of celebration for the kings when Kofi got captured. Kofi was sold to a trader then to a merchant with many adventures still lurking around. This is a eye opening story with a different perspective on the harsh triangle trade in the nations earliest years.

"The Color of Water" by James McBride I recommended this book because it's a true story. It's about this black boy who had a white woman as her mother. He had plenty of siblings. He would go through life without a dad and his mom was different. James would always wonder whethe rhe was black or white. He would always ask his mom but she never answers. He knew he was different. This book is different because there would be chapters talking about James McBride himself. Other chapters would talk about his mothers past. That was James McBride's purpose. This book is so good. It was "The New York Times Bestseller List" over two years. If I don't see you reading it, you're missing out.

The Book Title is "China's Son" I think this book is a good book to recommented because it talk about a real boy who survived at the time of his period, which is cultural revolutionary in china. The book has every facts and tells you the how the cultural is diferent before than now. Now we need to think how much freedom we have now, but think about the boy wh survived. And he is also a chinese, which means at that period Chinese culrual was more stricted than now. At that time we can't go anywhere because we might think we are going to get kill. Every day that boy is full fo anger and fears with hopes that one day he could wi the freedom for his life. And this book could definite teaches u something and makes u feel how lucky we are now with all the things we could have and sometimes we don;t even need to think about the consequences. so think about this book and consider it. cause this book might could change u view of do something in the future or even it might change ur life in a good ways.

Dragonwings by Laurence Yep
The book i recommend is Dragonwings. This book is a great book because it is about a Chinese boy called Moon Shadow who comes to America to work and help his father, Windrider. The book takes place in the early 20th century. It shows how the Chinese struggled to the demons which are the whites. The demons mistreated the Chinese and treated them unfairly. Why is the story good? This story is good because you will learn about the life of a group of people who works ain a community to make a better place. You can learn about the history during the 20th century. If your a person that wants to know about the history during the time period of the 20th century, then this book is just for you.

The book's title is: Dragonwings The book is about a boy named Moon Shadow. He journeys to America to live with his father. He had wanted to go to America ever since he heard about it. He had wondered what it was like to live there. He was also compelled to go to America because he heard about the Gold Mountain. the story is mostly about his life in America and the challenges that he faces. It talked about the friends he made when he went to America. The book shows how the Chinese had lived during the time of the California gold rush. It is a good story about how the Chinese dealt with the whites. It was a good story that also includes a bit about the earthquake. It mentions the friendship that happens between Moon Shadow and a white girl named Robin. The book is very good to read, and i recommend it to the people who would enjoy reading about the Chinese experience during the time of the gold rush. I also recommend it to the people who would enjoy reading about the Chinese. it is a good book from beginning to end. the first few chapters talk about how the Chinese lived in China, and what they did to get by. The readers who read Dragonwings will be compelled to read other books by Lurence Yep. this is the greatest book i read.

I recomend the book, A Wrinkle In Time, by Madeline Lengle. This is a good book because it is very exciting. You can not predict what is going to happen next. Meg and Charles are missing their father. They meet up with 3 strange people who are able to tesselate, teleport to different dimensions. They tesellate to another dimension and find their father trapped by an evil being called the Black Thing. Read the book to find out what happens to them...
